The Porn Project

8-18 August 2013

Diverse and challenging. Energetic and Inclusive. ‘The Porn Project’ was an independent fringe art campaign that took to the community spaces of inner city Auckland in the month of August 2013. With a strong emphasis on reclaiming sex and desire in all its diversity The Porn Project had no one position on pornography – the key point was that misogyny and racism in porn is not ok.

Rachel has recently published two reflection pieces on the modes and effects of The Porn Project; this one is in Le Roy’s gender and sexuality edition edition (Thanks to Le Roy for permission to reproduce here) an the other in The Vernacularist – ‘The Porn Project: a radical experiment with//in the vernacular?’ – which is available to be read here.
